Fortive Corporation Global Operations Director in Spartanburg, South Carolina

In this role, the Global Operations Director will set the strategy and optimize operations across two dozen manufacturing cells in Spartanburg, South Carolina; Fultonville, New York; and Egg, Germany. They’ll lead production, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams while partnering closely with cross functional peers. The Global Operations Director will report to Lindsay Ramirez, Anderson-Negele's President, and become a key member of the business unit leadership team. In this 'leader of leaders' role, they'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the business and enjoy the highest level of visibility and influence across the organization. With strong performance, this role has the potential to grow into larger opportunities across Fortive's portfolio.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Champion continuous improvement (Fortive Business System (FBS), lean manufacturing) in every interaction to drive consistent advancements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.

• Simplify complexity, align processes, and strengthen inner-plant and inter-plant communication to drive best-in-class global performance.

• Build a strong and high-impact organization by implementing a compelling talent strategy, attracting superb talent, accelerating the development of diverse and promotable employees, setting high expectations, holding teams accountable, and providing consistent and direct feedback

• Deploy robust functional Daily Management/Visual Management and Operational Review cadences at appropriate points of impact to ensure that the organization fulfills its charter and meets customer and business commitments.

• Drive operations innovation by strategically leveraging advanced technologies and benchmarking industry “Best of the Best;” provide reciprocal benchmarking and support to colleagues across Fortive.

• Cultivate a team that demonstrates grit and resilience to meet commitments despite roadblocks, values inclusion and diversity in all forms, and demonstrates integrity and courage.

• Establish and achieve capital, fixed, and variable budgets, providing end-of-month variance reporting and analysis, labor productivity accounting analysis and forecasting, and corrective actions as required.

• Communicate a shared vision and strategy that clearly highlights the linkage and contribution of the Operations team to the larger company strategy.

WHO YOU ARE

Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing and FBS (or similar).

• 8+ years of manufacturing and/or operations management experience.

• Quality Systems experience and familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.

• Proven track record of delivering results within a matrixed organization.

• Successful application of data and fact-based structured problem solving

• Experience building highly-engaged teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication with experience leading teams through organizational change.

• BS Degree required, preferably in a technical field, although others will be considered depending upon experience.

• Ability to travel between 35-50%.

Preferred Experience:

• Varied experiences in manufacturing engineering, production operations, quality, and supply chain roles a plus

• Master’s degree in business or technical field a plus.

• Experience handling >$10M operating budget

• Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.

• Digital literacy (Microsoft Office products: Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
