Purpose of Position

The Staff Accountant for Gems Setra has primary responsibility to maintain financial reporting, records, and general ledger accounts. Key player in month end and quarter end financial closes involving journal entries, account reconciliations, and Sarbanes-Oxley testing. A successful staff accountant will have a strong focus on accuracy/timeliness, highly developed drive for continuous improvement, and be a collaborative teammate.

Essential Functions

• Preparing journal entries, analyses, account reconciliations, and critical part of the monthly closing process.

• Collaborating with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team for invoicing, cash application, AR reconciliations, and cash collections support.

• Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

• Performing annual Sarbanes-Oxley testing requirements

• Assist with accounting projects and related special projects as required.

Education & Experience Required

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.

• Solid understanding of US GAAP

• Excellent interpersonal skills - collaborative with internal/external customers, team members and cross-functional collaborators

• Effective communications skills – including written, verbal and listening skills

• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot sophisticated datasets

• Organized, with a strong process and detail focus to deliver high quality and timely results

• High energy, bias for action with continuous improvement approach; recognizes and resolves issues.

• Team-player with the ability and willingness to tackle challenges

• Excellent digital literacy, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint

• ERP system experience (JDE and OneStream ideal)

• A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience preferred.
