Fortive Corporation Product Marketing Specialist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Position Overview

The Product Marketing Specialist – is responsible for the outbound marketing activities and internal communications and training for Industrial Scientific. This position will craft marketing content based on product positioning, conceive, and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand, and work alongside Product, Sales, and Marketing. This role will require being the expert in buyers, how they buy and transferring that knowledge to the global sales channels. Effective execution of all product rollouts and integrated marketing activities is critical.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, hard-working professional, with a positive attitude focusing on teamwork that thrives in a fast-paced, growing, and results-driven work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • New Products – plan the go-to-market of new products and software releases; develop product messaging that differentiates the product in the market; train regional sales teams on new products

  • Existing Products – sustain product launches and develop recommended product solution packages that drive customer value

  • Field Marketing – Collaborate with regional sales team to research, strategize, plan and implement regional marketing initiatives that complement the broader go-to-market strategy; support regional initiatives to drive sales performance and build brand loyalty

  • Sales Enablement – Drive the team’s confidence and ability to sell products and services by communicating the value proposition to internal teams, developing the sales tools, demos, and training that support the selling process

  • Demand Generation – develop the strategies and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for new and existing products; Partner with Marketing, App Engineering, Customer Success to execute

  • Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to win against them

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or related field

  • 3+ more years of product marketing or product management experience

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties

  • Experience partnering with sales teams

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Willing to travel 10-15%

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of industrial EHS market and global standards

  • Prior work in Industrial B2B
