Fortive Corporation Production Manager in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Specialty Products is seeking an experienced manufacturing professional to lead the operations of one of our diverse product lines. This position is a second level manager with direct reports that include production Supervisors, Mfg Engineers and Assemblers. From metal fabrication and injection molding to light assembly, our vertically integrated high-mix facility offers a wide variety of operational challenges and experiences which can grow a career.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Own the day to day operations of value stream including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Inventory.

· Work with marketing managers, sales managers, and customer support to produce business forecast by product family on a monthly basis.

· Drive continuous improvement in Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity and Inventory by teaching and applying the lean tools in the Fortive Business System (FBS).

· Operate within approved budget boundaries.

· Develop Associates to meet the future needs of the business.

· Engage Associates to maintain positive relationships and continuous improvement in the work environment.

· Lead the production start-up phase for new product introductions.

· Communicate with Finance regarding actual performance versus budget.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment that is in compliance with all OSHA(US), and EPA (US) any related country specific environmental regulations and guidelines

TECHNICAL SKILLS / TOOLS:

· Demonstrated ability to drive and sustain significant operational improvement and service levels.

· Ability to articulate clear vision and convey a sense of urgency.

· Ability and experience interfacing at all levels of the organization and functions - quality, finance, sales, engineering, materials.

· Extensive experience utilizing lean tools to achieve sustained improvements.

· Ability and willingness to lead and work in a matrix organization with direct and indirect reporting relationships.

· Technical aptitude.

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Engineering major a plus.

· 6-10 years of overall manufacturing experience with at least 5 years of management.

· Lean Manufacturing training and experience
