Your Impact

Qualitrol Corporation is seeking a Materials Manager to drive excellence in Supplier Quality, timely Delivery, Cost Reduction, Supplier Management, and Inventory Management. This is a hands-on leadership role in a matrixed organization reporting to the Director of Operations. You will lead the sourcing and inventory of all direct and indirect materials, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost (landed). The Materials Manager will ensure that supplies are available for Fairport manufacturing team and will improve the flow of materials to strengthen the manufacturing process.

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies: 

  • Cross Functionally lead & develop purchasing, scheduling, and logistics.

  • Solve materials problems that are negatively impacting production, quality, and delivery of products.

  • Pro-actively identify and implement opportunities to Strategic Sourcing PPV Goals and other cost savings.

  • Improve supplier fill rates, quality, lead times to fit product mix and needs.

  • Lead, train and facilitate the upgrade of the KanBan system to improve Inventory turns and eliminate part shortages.

  • Work with Production Teams to optimize build cycles and productivity.

  • Interact with the Strategic Sourcing Team Commodity Managers to ensure low-cost regional sourcing, supplier assessment & management.

  • Lead inventory at world class turn levels.

  • Supervise Vendor Performance through supplier score cards.

  • Maintain and enhance plant policies and procedures.

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

    · BA or BS in Business, Engineering, or similar field.

    · MBA or CPM preferred.

    · 5+ years of progressive experience in planning, purchasing, and inventory control within a lean manufacturing environment.

    · Familiar with Kanban system is a plus.

    · The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of personnel and production issues.

    · Strong desire to learn and drive lean principles.

National: The salary range for this position is $83,800- $155,600

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
