Fortive Corporation Area Lead in Elizabethtown, North Carolina

Job Summary:

The Area Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated area within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. The Area Leader will lead a team of operators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations Lead: Assist in guiding the production process within the assigned area by collaborating with the team to meet production schedules and maintain quality standards.

  • Team Support: Act as a liaison between operators and management. Share goals and expectations with the team and provide guidance to help them achieve daily targets.

  • Safety Advocate: Support the enforcement of safety protocols and procedures. Assist with safety audits and training sessions to help maintain a safe work environment.

  • Monitor and Report: Assist in monitoring production quality and report issues to the Quality team. Collaborate with the team to implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives alongside the team.

  • Data Support:: Help maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics. Support the Production Supervisor during daily tier 1 walks.

  • Problem-Solving Support: Support the resolution of production issues such as equipment malfunctions or material shortages by communicating needs to support departments and escalating to the Production Supervisor when necessary.

  • Training and Development: Help identify and facilitate training opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years cell leader or team leader or equivalent experience or equivalent combined education and experience

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of handling up to 50 lbs for short bursts; 50+ pounds will be handled with the assistance of hand trucks, lifts, conveyors and hoists.

  • Ability to stand for long periods up to eight hours or more at a time.
