Fortive Corporation Sr. Planner in Chandler, Arizona

The role of the Planner/Buyer is to be an active participant in an integrated product team / advanced product development team.

  • Supports the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and provide recommended affectivity cut-in dates.

  • Must be able to interpret bill of material (BOM) and understand issues that may result in MRP accuracy issues.

  • Highlights critical parts which may keep operations from meeting the Development and/or Master Production Schedule / Delivery Tracking Schedule and assess impact to management.

  • Reviews the schedule and ensures that materials are available when needed to run according to the schedule.

  • Initiate Material Requisitions for shortages and re-allocate existing residual inventory as vital. Identify material shortages and documentation affecting on-time release.

  • Initiate Development / Production releases and schedule Development / Production daily flow. Maintain the Development / Production Schedule and report activity daily.

  • Review, approve and process drawing and specification changes. Perform a complete final review of the final data packet, including the test activity.

  • Assist in establishing program lead times during proposal preparation with Master Scheduler. Coordination with suppliers to define system lead times.

  • Develops and maintains driven sources for materials, supplies and services. Coordinates source selection decisions with other company activities as required.

  • Develops and maintains good supplier relations by adhering to high standards of business ethics and fair dealing.

  • Monitors, provides status, and resolves issues, coordinates engineering, manufacturing, and quality control issues with suppliers. (e.g., solicitation, pricing, on-time delivery, returned goods, lead time, customer service, etc.).

  • Obtains responsive quotations and evaluates proposals from suppliers who are qualified, capable, and willing to meet company requirements.

  • Develops negotiation plans, and with management approval, completes negotiations.

  • Is consistent with technical requirements, delivery schedules and sound procurement principles.

  • Expeditiously handles properly authorized emergency and rush procurements. (SOX concern with manual requisition process vs system generated).

  • Documents procurement files to show that competent consideration has been given to all factors essential to effective and economical procurement.

  • Reviews contractual terms and conditions offered to and requested by suppliers to ensure Pacific Scientifics best interests are protected.

  • Stays ahead of the market, business cycles, scarcity, and surplus conditions.

  • Follows all company purchasing policies and procedures.

  • Support Quality, Engineering and Auditors during site visits and audits.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – External/internal:

  • 3-5 years purchasing, scheduling, and planning experience with government contractor, aerospace environment or equivalent experience.

  • 2 +yrs. experience in an MRP environment. C.P.M. / APICS certification highly desirable.

  • Capacity planning and Supply Chain Management knowledge.

  • Experience in sub-contract administration a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business or related field or equivalent work experience will be considered.
